Dealing with COVID-19

Dear Friends,

Due to the rapidly unfolding COVID-19 situation, we have decided that it’s probably not the best time to be re-opening a theatre. So the launch event of Giant Dwarf Theatre’s new home at 280 Cleveland St, which was scheduled for this Friday March 20 has been postponed, along with all events until further notice.

The April editions of our monthly shows – Generation Women and Story Club – have been cancelled. All other shows are postponed – not cancelled – but given the current uncertainty, it’s not feasible to announce new show dates now. Any tickets already sold for affected events will be valid for the rescheduled shows. We will of course give a full refund on request to anyone who bought a ticket before this announcement.

The Giant Dwarf site has been updated to flag – for all ticket sales from now – that the show will be “at the listed time or as rescheduled within 3 months of the listed time”. We think that’s a reasonable time in the current circumstances, and hope patrons will agree.

Refunds will be given for any events that are cancelled, and offered if the event can’t be rescheduled within 3 months.

COVID-19 is already causing major damage to the arts and entertainment sector. But we understand and whole-heartedly agree that the safety of audiences, performers and staff must come first

We are working with the artists to work out ways to keep supporting them through our channels including ways to deliver content of the shows to you at home, so we will keep you posted on that space.

Socially distant hugs
