Cassie Workman has returned to the stage to bring two of her most beloved shows to life, in a performance of her acclaimed ‘Love Stories’. In a night of comedy and heartfelt storytelling, Cassie performs ‘Ave Loretta’ and ‘We Have Fun Don’t We’ back to back at Giant Dwarf, to raise money for her medical costs.
Cassie began transitioning earlier this year, and this is your chance to support her along the way whilst enjoying two of her most loved solo shows.
“The greatest songs, like the greatest lives, fade out, so you can imagine that they go on in a more perfect world than this. I know that somewhere there’s a real life, and sometimes I think that all we have to do to find it, is follow the fading music.” – Loretta
This is a very black comedy about those who refuse to turn down the volume. Ave Loretta is about music, and art and the silent war against banality.
This must see show was nominated for the Barry Award (Best Show Award) at Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2013 and makes it’s long awaited reprise as part of ‘The Love Stories’
We Have Fun Don’t We
This is a love letter, it’s not for you, but you might want to hear it anyway. This is a show about love and wonder; how quickly it disappears, and how we remember it. ‘We Have Fun Don’t We’ is a show that I am thoroughly scared to perform, for all the right reasons.
‘We Have Fun Don’t We’ Won the Best Comedy Award at Adelaide Fringe in 2015.
