Sydney needs more comedy(?!) and Giant Dwarf wants to give it to you! Giant Comedy is a brand new monthly stand-up night bringing you lols from the best in the business. A classic format with a great MC, two feature acts and a killer headline act. So come grab a drink and prepare yourself for a sick night of laughs.

Headline – Tom Ballard

Tom Ballard is a stand-up comedian, writer, actor, broadcaster, philanthropist and philanderer.

He co-hosted the triple j breakfast show for four years and won an ARIA for his trouble and in 2014 he got his own shiny panel show Reality Check for ABC TV. Tom has fronted SBS’s coverage of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras three times and has guest hosted ABC TV’s Q&A.

2016 brought Tom Ballard nominations for Best Show at both the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, aka the two biggest live comedy awards in the world.

Tom’s podcast Like I’m A Six-Year-Old continues to grow from strength to strength and at the end of 2016 he appeared in SBS’s ground-breaking series First Contact.

And as if he’s not busy enough, he is the new host for ABC2’s ‘Tonightly’ that will serve up a skewering of current events with a heavy dash of comedy.

MC – Susie Youssef

Susie Youssef is a comedian, actor, writer and improviser. She is in the ensemble cast for Whose Line Is It Anyway Australia and stars in ABC TV’s Rosehaven and No Activity on STAN.

She has written, performed and produced comedy for stage, radio and television in Australia and around the world. In 2014, she played the lead role in the Hayloft Project’s award-winning play The Boat People.

She is a regular performer at the Sydney Comedy Store and Giant Dwarf Theatre and has performed at Splendour in the Grass, Secret Garden Festival and Homebake.

Feature – Jen Carnovale

Jen Carnovale is a Sydney comedian who has traveled from quaint bookstores in Canberra to Latvian kind-of scary warehouses to the Comedy Central stage to perform stand up. She has toured across the UK, Australia, all the good looking parts of Europe and tasty parts of Asia.

Since being home Jen has performed sold out shows at Sydney Comedy Festival and Sydney Fringe Festival, performed at Spendour in the Grass as well as headlining great comedy rooms round Australia mate!

Jen has been described as ‘Brilliant’ by Comedy Estonia, ‘Outstanding razor-sharp slices of observational comedy” by Funny Women, and the New York Comedy Night in Paris said “She lights up the stage with her bubbling wit and sharp derision. The audience is left with no choice but to be charmed”

and also featuring – Ben Kochan

Hello?! Benny Bing Bong speaking! Ben Kochan is bloody crushing all over Sydney of late. Witty and clever writing paired with a phenomenal moustache makes for a killer night whenever he’s on stage.

Having toured around Australia and been nominated as a FRESH artist at the Sydney comedy festival, Ben is set to explode and become one of your new faves.

Giant Dwarf is a licensed venue. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
