Red Dot Revolt brings the heat of brown talent and artistry from all across South Asia
Sydney’s hottest brown talent is bringing you a ground breaking showcase of your favourite known and unknown South Asian Australian artists. Poetry, dance, music, comedy – it’s South Asia with all the spice and none of the drama.
Red Dot Revolt challenges what it means to be a South Asian creative and holds space for artists across all castes, religions and cultures. It is curated by South Asian poets and performers, Kripa Krithivasan and Raveena Grover.
This is an LGBTQIA+, differently abled and multiculturally safe and affirming event. As settlers, we are immensely privileged to work and perform on Gadigal Land – we acknowledge sovereignty was never ceded. This was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
All profits will be donated equally to two organisations the Red Dot Revolt team is passionate about:
+ SeedMob is an Aboriginal-run youth climate activism group. They raise awareness and petition for climate justice across Australia. You can check them out HERE, and watch their important documentary Water is Life HERE.
+ Hemkunt Foundation is an Indian-based NGO providing free oxygen cylinders for Covid-19 relief in India. You can check them out and donate HERE.
Regretfully, the venue in which Giant Dwarf Theatre operates does present some challenges to people with limited mobility, and is not wheelchair accessible (for now). The venue can reserve seating to cater for those with limited mobility and those who are blind or have low vision. Wheelchair users have often still attended performances, but please note; there is a small step up into the entrance of the venue, and no wheelchair accessible bathrooms.
If you or any of your friends wishing to attend have any questions about accessibility, please do reach out to Giant Dwarf via email@example.com or the Red Dot Revolt team via our social media. We will do best within our capabilities to cater to any requirements, big or small. It is important everyone can enjoy the show.
